What oil should you use to nourish dry facial skin?
Botanical oils offer so many benefits for all skin types, but especially for dry skin. Many oils are excellent for nourishing the skin of the face, and each one has its own specific properties.
- Coconut and Avocado oils are recommended to care for dry and very dry skin. Both oils strengthen the skin barrier and form a protective film on the skin surface that helps to prevent the evaporation of moisture.
- Jojoba oil is most often recommended for combination, oily and blemish-prone skin, as it helps to balance sebum production. You'll find this oil in many Absolution products, including our Addiction oil.
- Sweet Almond and Baobab oils are particularly recommended for sensitive and reactive skin. They're rich in omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, as well as Vitamin F, so they nourish the skin of the face while also helping to prevent skin aging.
All botanical oils have a moisturizing effect as they prevent dehydration. They're also very versatile, and can be incorporated into your skincare routine in different ways. Here are just a few ideas!
- Apply a few drops of oil (always on damp skin) instead of your usual day or night cream.
- Use a natural skincare product whose formula includes the botanical oil that best suits your skin type. Then your skin can soak up the benefits of this oil working in synergy with other botanical and essential oils, as well as plant extracts or hydrosols.
- Add a few drops of the oil that's best for your skin type to your usual face cream, to boost its benefits.
