EcoTree: For a Greener Planet
Environmental preservation is at the heart of our approach. In 2020, we started supporting EcoTree, a company dedicated to sustainable forest management and reforestation. By actively participating in tree planting and maintenance, we contribute to CO2 capture, biodiversity, and ecosystem regeneration.
Thanks to this partnership, we have already helped plant numerous tree species, each one contributing to the foundation of a more sustainable future. As an organic cosmetics brand, it is essential for us to take concrete action to protect the natural resources we depend on.
Saying we are committed is good, but proving it is even better! Here are the actions we have implemented with Ecotree since November 2019:
2019
- 136 trees (Douglas firs, chestnuts, larches, thujas, spruces) planted in the Cleden-Poher forest in Brittany. Located in a 3-hectare Natura 2000 area (a natural zone with high biodiversity) in the Aulne Valley (Finistère), this former larch monoculture now welcomes new plantations that foster local biodiversity and forest regeneration.
- Additionally, we donated the proceeds (€2,330) from workshops held during our 10th-anniversary pop-up event to fund a biodiversity project in this forest.
2020
5% of La Tree Week e-shop sales donated to plant nectar-producing trees and strengthen French forest massifs:
- 20 red oaks and 9 Douglas firs planted in Luthenay Forest (Nièvre)
- 75 chestnut trees planted in Pleyben Forest (Finistère)
- Funding for the restoration of the riparian zone in Cleden-Poher (a crucial interface between land and aquatic ecosystems).
2021
5% of La Tree Week e-shop sales donated to fund the maintenance of 373 Douglas firs in La Chapelle Saint Rémy Forest.
2022
- 5% of La Tree Week e-shop sales donated to reforest 35 hectares in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie Forest (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), which suffered from wildfires in the summer of 2022.
- Funding for the installation and maintenance of a beehive for two years in Pleyben Forest (Finistère) to support pollination.
2023
5% of La Tree Week e-shop sales donated to the Ecotree Biodiversity Fund to strengthen terrestrial biodiversity across various ecosystems in France. This fund enriches the national biodiversity network while fostering a positive social impact and supports:
- The creation and restoration of ponds and wetlands
- The installation of beehives for pollinators
- The preservation of habitat trees
- Employment integration for unemployed individuals
- Training programs for people with disabilities
2024
5% of La Tree Week e-shop sales donated to help reforest 2 hectares of a fire-damaged forest in Landiras (Gironde) and restore wetlands, which are essential to forest life.
Growing the Absolution Forest
For the past five years, Absolution has supported various biodiversity projects, including the planting of diverse tree species across France. The small Absolution forest already counts 240 trees around the country!
La Maison des Femmes de Saint-Denis: For a More Peaceful Future
Since 2021, Absolution has been supporting La Maison des Femmes de Saint-Denis (The Women's Home), a unique facility affiliated with the Saint-Denis Hospital Center, dedicated to welcoming and assisting women in difficulty or victims of violence. Founded in July 2016 by Dr. Ghada Hatem-Gantzer (gynecologist-obstetrician), this structure offers a multidisciplinary, community-based approach, providing a one-stop center to meet the specific needs of each woman.
La Maison des Femmes operates in various fields, including prevention, education, and public health, with the aim of providing concrete and comprehensive support to women in vulnerable situations. It brings together health professionals, legal experts, law enforcement, as well as therapists, artists, and athletes, who collaborate to guide patients toward healing and independence.
Our commitment to La Maison des Femmes is reflected in regular donations: every March 8th, we donate all e-shop sales from the day to them. We are proud to contribute, in our own way, to a fairer and more supportive world.
